The Red Devils are looking at a number of options. Including Palmeiras’ Richard Rios, Burnley’s Sander Berge, Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi and Sofiane Amrabat. Who they took on loan from Fiorentina last season but did not trigger the option to buy.
They are also interested in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte but will not meet the Ligue 1 champions’ asking price.
Meanwhile, Fulham have turn their attention to other targets after their second bid for Scott McTominay was rejected.
Their latest offer of £20m still leaves room for that valuation.
In the case of Andre, the Fluminense defensive midfielder is still a player they are interested in.
Manchester United were reported to be eyeing Fofana. As their second choice after a deal to sign Uruguayan midfielder Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain fell through. But the Red Devils are likely to miss out on the 25-year-old after he expressed his interest in joining the Rossoneri.
Following the French star’s transfer swoop, Fabrizio Romano posted on X on August 15 that the Serie A giants are set to sign Fofana.
