Manchester United coach Andreas Jorgenson has spoken about his role at the club with the hope he will be part of Ruben Amorim backroom team.

Jorgenson joined the Red Devils from Lillestrom this summer as part of a series of changes to former manager Erik ten Hag’s coaching staff.

Ruud van Nistelrooy and Rene Haag are Ten Hag’s assistants, while Jelle ten Rouvelaar is the goalkeeping coach.

All three have been confirm as leaving Manchester United following the sacking of Ten Hag, with new boss Amorim bringing in six players from Sporting Lisbon.

The Daily Mail report this week that Jorgenson is a man of survival, with the set-piece specialist having known United’s technical director Jason Wilcox from their time together at Southampton.

Jorgenson has now outlined his role with the Red Devils, via Swedish outlet SkaneSport.

The 42-year-old has revealed he was initially reluctant to take on the narrow role of working solely as a set-piece coach, but Wilcox informed him he would be taking up a wider role as first-team coach.

“I have to be responsible for the stability of the situation, the development of individuals and driving our identity as a team with the head coach. The job was perfect, but the timing was bad,” Jorgenson said.

“My first specialty was set-pieces and throw-ins, and that’s what we focused on in the beginning. That’s where I got my own unique knowledge and approach that works for every club.”

“Over time, we’ve laid the foundation for our individual development program and our identity as a team, and I’ve slowly started to process that, which has been fun.”

“Few people think training is fun, but everyone knows that one-third of goals come from set pieces. I have to be clear ยูฟ่าเบท with my players. The saying ‘less is more’ is often true.”

“I would rather practice a fixed situation with full attention for 10 minutes than practice for 2 hours without any commitment. This is a detail that can be statistically determine to move up or down 5 places in the table.”
