Frank Lampard is set to hold talks with Coventry in the coming days as the Championship club consider their managerial options to succeed Mark Robins.
The former Chelsea player and manager is one of a handful of candidates in the running after owner Doug King and his advisors reviewed a shortlist of around 70 candidates.
While Lampard is a strong option, he is not the only name being seriously consider. With King keen to become a head coach rather than a manager. With Robins having work as the latter for most of his seven-and-a-half years in charge. While King is also considering a sporting director role.
King is set to speak to UK and international coaches before making a final decision. And has also been advise by operations director Dr Claire-Marie Roberts and head of recruitment Dean Austin.
Lampard has been out of management since his short-term return to Stamford Bridge as caretaker manager ended after the conclusion of the 2022-23 season.
He has previous experience of the Championship having led Derby County to the play-off final in 2019. Before going on to work at Chelsea and Everton in the Premier League.
Lampard is the current odds-on favourite with bookmakers. While former Sky Blues striker Robbie Keane has also been list as a potential contender. Following his time in the Indian Super League and with Maccabi Tel Aviv, which ended in June.
Lee Carsley, who is set to return to England Under-21s after taking charge of the senior side on an interim basis, has also been link with the role. Along with Register ufabet former Man Utd striker Ruud van Nistelrooy.
Van Nistelrooy left Old Trafford earlier this week following the arrival of new manager Ruben Amorim.
