Roy Keane has backed Ruben Amorim’s brave decision to leave out frontman Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho for Manchester United’s 2-1 comeback win over Manchester City. Rashford
suffered in midweek’s Europa League tie at Viktoria Plzen, while Garnacho came on as a substitute. However,
the pair were left out of the squad. With Amorim opting to partner Mason Mount and Amad Diallo behind Rasmus Hojlund.
While the decision has been questioned, Keane was in favour, telling http://ufabet999.app Sports : “For anyone who’s watched United recently it’s no shock. That Rashford and Garnacho have been left out because they’ve both been so disappointing. “
I think Ruben Amorim will say ‘enough is enough’ but I like it because it’s a big boost. He’s shown his place,”
“So to leave them out of the squad is a big call but for us who have watched United recently there is also not that big a surprise. Because both players have been poor and he’s perhaps said ‘enough’s enough’. We will also see how they react to this big disappointment to be left out of a squad in a big game.
“But a big call from the manager, but I have to say he’s putting a marker down to these players. And it’s how they react to it.” When asked about Rashford’s reaction by Micah Richards, Keane added: “You hope he is disappointed. Because a derby should mean as much to a local player as much as anybody.
Keane added of Rashford’s transfer rumours. “A move for Marcus would suit the player, it’s a new challenge for him. “
He’s been there a long time. When you play for a big club and you have the wrong attitude and nothing’s been good in the last few years, sometimes it’s good to part ways.”
