Infectious diseases, a risk that is close at hand.

Infectious diseases are diseases or conditions caused by germs such as bacteria, viruses, fungi that enter the body through various channels, whether through the skin, respiratory tract, digestive tract, urinary tract, and sexual intercourse. Some germs cannot cause disease while the body has a strong immune system. However, when the body is in a state of immune deficiency, these germs can immediately cause disease.

There are many factors that cause infectious diseases, such as the body’s immunity, genetic factors, and the type and amount of germs that the body receives. In some cases, the body is infected but does not cause disease because the body has a strong immune system that can eliminate these germs. However, if the body is infected while the body is weak, it will immediately cause disease.

Caused by infectious diseases. Common infectious diseases can be divided as follows:

  • Viral infectious diseases include colds, flu, hepatitis, rabies, UFABET, measles-rubella, mumps, dengue fever, encephalitis, AIDS, etc.
  • Infectious diseases caused by bacteria include typhoid fever, leptospirosis, tetanus, meningococcal disease, and syphilis.
  • Fungal infections include skin fungal infections, candidiasis, and aspergillus infections.
  • Parasitic infections include tapeworms, malaria, dysentery, and elephantiasis.

Who is at risk of infectious disease?

  • Vulnerable groups that are more susceptible to infection include young children, the elderly, people with chronic diseases, and pregnant women.
  • Groups that are being treated for certain diseases , such as those taking steroids, patients who need to take immunosuppressive drugs, and those who have had organ transplants.
  • Groups with weakened immunity, such as patients with HIV or cancer.

Symptoms of an infectious disease depend on the location and type of pathogen affecting the body, such as:

  • Viral infections affect the body systems that the virus attacks. Some affect the nervous system, muscular system, respiratory system, digestive system, immune system, etc.
  • Bacterial infections often cause symptoms such as fever, pain, swelling, heat, swollen lymph nodes, diarrhea, cough, and sore throat.
  • Fungal infections often manifest on the skin.

In addition, some germs are resistant to the environment, can survive for a long time, and may develop drug resistance, causing severe symptoms when infected, making treatment more difficult and complicated.

Prevention of most infectious diseases involves getting vaccinated on schedule, maintaining good health, and changing your daily lifestyle. Especially those with underlying diseases need to maintain good health because if they get infected, it can cause severe symptoms or multiple organs may get infected at the same time.
